History

Buffy was born in 1981 to Hank and Joyce Summers in Los Angeles, California. She had a normal childhood, popular with a lot of friends but her world changed when she turned fifteen. Buffy started having nightmares about girls and demons which she later learned was because she was 'called' to be a slayer. Her first watcher was Merrick and he taught her how to fight and kill vampires. They defeated the vampire Lathos but not before her watcher died. During the battle, Buffy burned down the gym. That action got her expelled from Hemery and set her on the path toward Sunnydale, Giles and the Hellmouth.

After her parents divorce, Buffy and her mom moved to Sunnydale where she met her next Watcher Giles. Buffy also became friends with Willow and Xander who helped her fight the 'forces of darkness'. Her path also crossed with Angel, a vampire with a soul. This relationship was doomed and played a large part in Buffy becoming an adult.

Her life can pretty much be summed up with if it's Tuesday it must be an apocalypse. She spends most of her time defeating the big bads, stopping apocalypses, and keeping the world safe.

While Buffy was in college, monks took a mystic ball of energy merged it with Summers' blood and she suddenly found herself with a younger sister. The catch was that the monks altered the perception of everyone with it appearing that Dawn had truly been Buffy's younger sister. Memories affected of growing up, baby sitting, moving to Sunnydale, going through the parents divorce. When Buffy learned the truth about Dawn it didn't change anything. Dawn was, is and will always be Buffy's younger sister.

At the death of her mother to a brain tumor/aneurysm, Buffy dropped out of college to take care of her sister and be the 'bread winner' of the family. A hell goddess, Glory, want the Key (Dawn) to open portals so that she could return to her dimension. During the battle, a portal was opened, but Buffy closed it as she sacrificed herself. (Death is her gift)

Her best friend Willow didn't know that after her death she'd gone to heaven so worked her magic to bring her back. Another defining moment in Buffy's life was waking up in a buried coffin and clawing her way to the surface. Like her relationship with Angel, this shaped Buffy. Not just the clawing out, but being ripped from a place of warmth and love back into the 'real world'.

What they hadn't realized was with Buffy's resurrection also brought out The First. To defeat The First, Buffy had Willow activate the Slayer Line. Once the Potentials had become Slayers and with the sacrifice of Spike, they were able to defeat The First and the Turok-Han (Uber vamps). Unfortunately there were many casualties, not the least of which was the town of Sunnydale which became a crater.
